Young-Bo Shim has ample experience in prosecuting patent applications before the Korea Intellectual Property Office in the technical fields of semiconductor devices, software and signal processing, wireless communications, telecommunications, broadcasting systems, network architecture, computer architecture, business methods, display devices and image processing.
Mr. Shim has extensive experience in searching for patent/utility model documents and prior art for on-going patent litigation and in patent clearance searches. He has conducted trials before the Intellectual Property Trial and Appeal Board, the Intellectual Property High Court and the Supreme Court. He has also drafted many patent specifications for nano engineering and LED inventions and had them filed with the Korean Intellectual Property Office and USPTO.
Prior to joining Lee International IP & Law, Mr. Shim worked at Koreana Patent Firm. He is a graduate of Seoul National University (B.S. Electrical Engineering, 2006) and a candidate of Munich Intellectual Property Law Center (MIPLC) LL.M. (IP & Competition Law, 2015/2016)
