Pham Vu Khanh Toan holds a BSc in Physics, a BA in law and a MIP (1988). He is registered patent and trademark attorney and an attorney at law. From 1985 to 1988 Mr. Pham was an expert at the Vietnam National Office of Intellectual Property (NOIP). He left the NOIP in 1991 to establish Pham & Associates and is the company's managing partner to this day.
Mr. Pham focused practice is IP disputes resolution and litigation, IP licensing and franchising. Under his leadership, Pham & Associates continues to be one of the largest filers for trademark and patent registration in Vietnam and has built a widely-recognized reputation in conducting appeal, opposition and invalidation procedures with the NOIP, in suing in court to resolve IP disputes or to negotiate to reach out-of-court agreements. Mr. Pham is a mediator and arbitrator of Vietnam Arbitration Center.
In addition to performing the daily work of a lawyer, Mr. Pham is also involved in the training for junior IP attorneys. He has been periodically invited to give lectures on IP at the University of Science, Social and Humanity and the Judiciary Institute in Hanoi and comparative law at the Law University and Economic University of the Ho Chi Minh city. He is the Vice-President of the Vietnam Association for Anti-counterfeiting and Trademark Protection, a member of the Vietnam Lawyers Association, INTA, AIPLA, ECTA, IBA, FICPI, LES and LAWASIA.
