Shantanu Ajit Tambe

Shantanu is a Managing Associate at the firm with over a decade of experience advising domestic and international clients on a broad spectrum of intellectual property matters. His practice encompasses trademark and copyright prosecution, contentious proceedings, portfolio management, enforcement strategy, and intellectual property advisory work, with particular expertise in assisting clients with the development, protection, and commercialization of their brands in Thailand and across the ASEAN region.

Shantanu regularly advises multinational corporations, regional businesses, and emerging brands on the creation and implementation of strategic intellectual property protection programmes. His experience spans the full lifecycle of brand protection, from clearance and prosecution through to enforcement, dispute resolution, and long-term portfolio management. He is particularly recognised for his ability to provide commercially focused advice that aligns intellectual property strategy with broader business objectives.

In addition, Shantanu is actively involved in intellectual property transactional matters, including the drafting, review and negotiation of trademark license agreements, franchise agreements, distributorship agreements, and other commercial agreements involving intellectual property rights.

Shantanu also has extensive experience coordinating cross-border matters, particularly in India and the ASEAN region, where he regularly works alongside foreign counsel to develop cohesive regional brand protection strategies. Clients value his responsiveness, commercial awareness, and ability to navigate multi-jurisdictional issues efficiently.

Shantanu is also an active member of the international intellectual property community and regularly attends major conferences including the International Trademark Association (INTA) and the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA).
