Dr. Kayahan has an extensive academic and research portfolio, having published 33 articles in international refereed journals and contributed chapters to 4 books during her doctoral and post-doctoral studies. She has been a Turkish Patent Attorney since 2011 and became a European Patent Attorney in 2019. She has also served as a part-time lecturer at METU, teaching the course “Intellectual Property in Chemistry and Pharmaceuticals” in the Department of Chemistry. She was awarded the title of Associate Professor in 2018. Since 2021, Dr. Kayahan has been a full-time faculty member in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Istanbul Health and Technology University. In 2022, she established her own company, Senem Kayahan Patent Consulting Ltd.
Dr. Kayahan is actively involved in the professional community. She is a member of the Patent and Trademark Attorneys’ Association and the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI). Additionally, she served as a board member (2024-2026) of Turkiye Patent Information User Group (TURPIUG).
