Rita joined Zacco in 2000. She provides advice on strategic patenting issues and deals with all matters related to patenting, such as prior art searches, drafting and prosecuting patent applications, oppositions and appeals, infringement and validity opinions, and litigation support. A key area of expertise is in Supplementary Protection Certificates for approved medicinal products.
Rita’s practice involves Chemistry, Polymers, Pharmaceuticals, Life Science, Food Technology and Healthcare.
From 1988 to 1991, Rita worked at the Norwegian Industrial Property Office as an examiner. In the period from 1991 to 2000 she was employed in the corporate patent and trademark department at Norsk Hydro ASA. In this period Rita drafted and prosecuted a number of patent applications and acquired high competence in the patenting field, also outside Norway. She graduated with a Master of Science degree in Chemistry from the Norwegian Institute of Technology (NTH) in 1988, and has been on the list of European Patent Attorneys since Norway became a member of the EPO in 2008.
Rita is listed as a recommended individual in the prestigious IAM Patent 1000 ranking.
