Maria Puronvarsi specialises in brand protection and enforcement. She advises brand owners of all sizes on trademark protection, filing strategies, trademark clearance searches, prosecution, global trademark portfolio management and global brand protection strategies.
Maria handles opposition, cancellation and invalidation proceedings, as well as trademark infringement and anti-counterfeiting cases. She has represented more than 200 global brand owners in seizures of counterfeit goods by Finnish Customs.
Her main practice areas also include unfair competition, marketing law and fashion law. Maria lectures on trademark-related matters and represents clients before the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), the Finnish Patent and Registration Office, and Finnish and European Union courts in brand rights disputes.
