Kathy is a Finnish and European Patent Attorney and Partner at Laine IP in Helsinki, where she specializes in patent prosecution in the fields of chemistry and life sciences. With over 20 years of experience, Kathy supports a wide range of clients from startups to multinational corporations, helping them protect and manage their innovations.
Particularly she works with patent drafting and prosecution, as well as oppositions and appeals, while also supporting clients in litigation cases. She also plays an active role in mentoring junior attorneys and contributing to a collaborative culture at Laine IP.
In 2025, Kathy was recognized as IP Practitioner of the Year in Finland by Managing IP, and also included on the IPStars global ranking of the Top 250 Women in IP — a reflection of her consistent, high-quality work and strong client relationships.
