Gerald Koh graduated from the University of Buckingham, Great Britain, in 1994 with an LLB and has been called to the bar in Singapore, England and Wales. He is a Singapore qualified intellectual property (IP) lawyer and a registered Singapore Patent Attorney with over 17 years’ experience in patent prosecution and litigation at a leading Singapore law firm before joining VJP in 2016, where he now serves in his capacity as a Singapore Patent Attorney. He also holds a specialist diploma in molecular biotechnology which he received in 2005 from the Ngee Ann Polytechnic in Singapore. He has particular expertise in the pharma/biotech/life sciences sectors as well as many years of experience leading a team of professionals serving client’s patenting needs.
Among the articles and publications Mr. Koh has contributed, he also co-authored the patents chapter in Atkins Court Forms Singapore. He was listed as a recommended IP lawyer in The Legal 500 (2015) and voted by readers of Managing Intellectual Property as an IP Star 2018. According to IAM Patent 1000, he is "one of the few litigators in Singapore who also brings to the table a thorough technical background. He truly understands the science behind the arguments". He is currently Member of the Examination Committee for the Singapore Qualifying Examination for Singapore Patent Attorneys and serves as an Executive Committee member of The International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property Singapore (AIPPI SG)
