In the first of our masterclass series, reporter Charlotte Kilpatrick talks to directors from African law firm Spoor & Fisher about IP in Africa

Managing IP reporter Charlotte Kilpatrick moderates a masterclass on what businesses need to know about intellectual property before filing in Africa. Three directors from African firm Spoor & Fisher – Wayne Meiring, Chris Walters and Margaret Le Galle, all of whom have expertise in both patents and trademarks – join Charlotte for this podcast.

During the masterclass, guests give listeners need-to-know information on where the most important jurisdictions on the continent are, examination standards, prosecution and litigation, and the important differences between the two regional offices – Africa Regional Intellectual Property Organization and l’Organisation Africaine de la Propriété Intellectuelle.
