UK registry operator Nominet has sold six short domain names for £24,000 ($40,000). The domains were sold through NFPAS Auctions, with proceeds going ot the Nominet Trust.
There were five .co.uk domains and one .org.uk.
The domain aa.co.uk went to American Airlines while aa.org.uk went to ISP Andrews & Arnold.
e.co.uk was bought by E! Entertainment Television and u.co.uk by Ubrands.
Liverpool Victoria bought lv.co.uk and Country Casuals won cc.co.uk.
Another auction will be held soon for contested domain names from the unregistered rigihts sunrise phase. Nominet will announce a date for the landrush period next week.
