Celebrating World IP Day

“Digital Creativity: Culture Reimagined” is the theme of the 17th annual World IP Day, which is being celebrated on April 26 2016

World IP Day 2016In a statement marking the occasion, WIPO Director General Francis Gurry said the way creative works are produced, the sorts of works produced, and how they are distributed, consumed and enjoyed has been “reimagined as a consequence of digital technology”.

He stressed the need to find “the right balance to reward the creators and innovators who enrich our lives, while at the same time ensuring the social benefit of widespread access to their works”.
