Sebastian Horlacher began his career in the IP/IT team of a German law firm. Before joining TWAINSCORE, he worked at the renowned IP law firm df-mp, where he gained valuable experience in handling both complex IP litigation and non-contentious strategic IP matters. He studied law at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen, the TU Dresden/University of Exeter (LL.M.), and obtained his doctorate from the TU Dresden. Sebastian Horlacher was also a research fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition in Munich, Germany, as well as at the University of Cape Town in South Africa.

At TWAINSCORE, Sebatian Horlacher will shift a considerable degree of his focus to Patent Litigation cases. In addition, he will continue to handle unfair competition and trademark litigation as well as advising in all aforementioned fields.

TWAINSCORE partner Dr. Martin Wintermeier:

We are pleased to welcome Sebastian to our team. His strong IP-focused academic background and excellent professional legal skills have already helped him gain visibility in the market, and we are confident that this will grow even further within our team. His arrival increases the capacity of our team significantly, enabling us to continue to take on complex IP disputes, particularly before the UPC.

Founded in 2020 by Dr. Martin Wintermeier and others, TWAINSCORE has maintained a strong market presence IP infringement proceedings. The team is particularly active in patent infringement cases, both before German national courts and the UPC. In addition to associates, the team has seen significant growth with senior level lawyers. In 2022, Preu Bohlig Counsel Jakob Nüzel joined TWAINSCORE as a partner. In 2023, experienced patent litigator Agnes Lauer, who previously worked for the patent litigation teams of firms such as Ampersand and Bird & Bird, joined as Counsel. In 2024, Nathalie Wintermeier joined from the IP team of ARQIS as a partner. In 2026, TWAINSCORE is expected to continue expanding its team.
