MLL Legal talks about Reto Luthiger being appointed to its board of directors

MLL Legal is pleased to announce the appointment of Reto Luthiger to its Board of Directors. The firm’s Co-Head of Regulatory, Compliance and New Technologies joins the board at a moment of growth and strategic development for the firm.

Reto Luthiger brings over a decade of experience in financial market regulation, compliance, fintech, and blockchain law. He is serving as Co-Head of MLL Legal’s Regulatory, FinTech & DLT practice group, as well as the firm’s Insurance and Compliance & Internal Investigations industry groups. His expertise spans banking, anti-money laundering, securities regulation, and digital assets, and he is widely recognised for his leadership in navigating complex regulatory landscapes.

Nicola Benz, Co-Head of the ICT & Digital Practice Group, and Vice-Chair of the MLL Legal Board for the past four years, joined the Management Team at the beginning of 2025 and therefore stepped down from the board.

“We thank Nicola for her dedicated work over the last four years in her Board role — in particular, her instrumental support for the integration work that followed our 2021 merger,” says Alexander Vogel, Chair of the Board at MLL Legal. “We wish Reto, together with all re-elected Board members and Nicola in her continuing management function, every success in their leadership positions.”

“I’m honored to join the Board of MLL Legal and contribute to its continued success,” says Reto Luthiger. “I look forward to collaborating with a team that is shaping the future of legal services with such integrity and innovation.”

While still remaining committed to his legal work, Reto Luthiger officially assumes the position on the Board as of July. The Board—comprising Alexander Vogel, Dunja Koch, Nadine von Büren-Maier, Simon Holzer and now Reto Luthiger, is committed to the supervision, strategy and long-term success of the firm.
