We are delighted to share that Murgitroyd has collaborated with fellow IP law firm Kilburn & Strode to launch the European Patent Pipeline Programme (EPPP) this week.
What is it?
Based on the Patent Pipeline Progam (PPP), launched by the National Council on Patent Practicum (NCPP) in partnership with Meta, we are thrilled to bring this programme to Europe with the launch of the European Patent Pipeline Programme (EPPP).
This programme seeks to widen access to the patent profession by breaking down some common barriers and providing a structured, tailored internship opportunity to bring this fantastic career to a wider audience.
Having seen great success in the US since its inception three years ago, we hope to emulate the same level of success in Europe by offering a one-of-a-kind internship for STEM students to work closely with private practice patent attorneys and in-house patent professionals.
What will you be doing during the internship?
The EPPP internship will allow STEM students to gain a unique opportunity to experience life as a patent attorney. Working within one of the London offices of either Murgitroyd or Kilburn & Strode for ten weeks, interns will have the opportunity to shadow and learn from qualified patent attorneys and take on responsibilities and hands-on work experience of trainee patent attorneys.
In addition, there will also be the opportunity to work within a company’s in-house intellectual property (IP) team to observe the different work and business considerations at some of the most famous companies in Europe.
What happens at the end of the internship?
In addition to gaining an unparalleled insight into the career and role of a patent attorney and a jump-start in your training, you will also have the opportunity to apply for a trainee patent attorney position at either Kilburn & Strode or Murgitroyd.
