On behalf of the entire MLL Legal partnership it is with great pleasure that we announce the promotion of Jacques Johner and Stefan Schröter to Partners and Gabriel Meier and Jérôme Pidoux to Counsel as per 1 January 2024. We congratulate each one of them for reaching this significant milestone in their careers and wish them continued success in their new role! The addition of these exceptional talents to our team not only celebrates individual achievement but also highlights our collective dedication to the values that define MLL Legal: embracing rising new law experts with innovative ideas to further shape our Swiss Law Firm of the Future.

Jacques Johner: Partner

Jacques started as a Junior Associate in 2015 and was promoted to Associate in 2017 and to Senior Associate in 2021. He is a member of the Real Estate and Dispute Resolution practice groups in our Geneva and Lausanne offices.

“During his tenure with MLL Legal, Jacques has shown a strong commitment to improve his professional skills, to broaden his knowledge of the Real Estate and Construction industry and to develop a promising network of relationships with the key players in the sector. We appreciate his hard-working attitude, his dedication to our clients and their projects and his all-time loyalty to the other team members. No doubt that his promotion as Partner to our firm is not only well-deserved but will be a real springboard to his continuing successful career with us“, says Philippe Prost, Co-Head Real Estate.

Expertise:

Jacques’ practice includes all real estate, construction law, land and use planning law, as well as public procurement law and other aspects of public law related topics. He has vast experience in real estate transactions and in advising clients in connection with construction, renovation and development projects.

Stefan Schröter: Partner

Stefan joined us as an Associate in 2011 and was promoted to Counsel in 2020. He is a member of the IP practice group in our Zurich office.

“Thanks to his long-standing and passionate fight against counterfeit of our clients’ products, Stefan has gained enormous expertise and international recognition in this field of activity. We value Stefan not only for his outstanding professional skills, but also as an exceptionally dedicated and loyal member of our team. The new role as Partner is therefore a logical step in his career and truly deserved”, say Michael Ritscher, Simon Holzer and Peter Schramm, Co-Heads IP.

Expertise:

Stefan has wide-ranging experience with unfair competition cases as well as in registration and enforcement of trademarks, copyrights, design rights and geographical indications. He has a focus on anti-counterfeit and e-commerce issues with particular expertise in the sectors of retail, fashion, electronics, furniture, healthcare and life science.

Gabriel Meier: Counsel

Gabriel joined MLL Legal as a Senior Associate in July 2022. He is a member of the Corporate and M&A practice group in our Zurich office.

“Gabriel is an excellent lawyer and highly valued by team members and clients. His outstanding expertise in the fields of Corporate/M&A as well as his in-depth knowledge in the field of artificial intelligence are highly appreciated by clients and peers, who recognise and value his contributions to their legal needs. With his dedication to work, his team spirit and his loyalty to our firm, we are pleased to have Gabriel on board and welcome him in his new role as a counsel to our firm“, says Andrea Sieber, Co-Head Corporate and M&A.

Expertise:

Gabriel’s main areas of practice focus on general corporate law, the sale and acquisition of companies and the structuring of joint ventures. He has a particular interest in legal topics in the field of artificial intelligence. He also advises clients on labour law issues and has broad experience in drafting commercial contracts such as manufacturing and distribution agreements.

Jérôme Pidoux: Counsel

Jérôme started as an Associate in 2014. He is a member of the Banking & Finance and Corporate and M&A practice groups in our Zurich office.

“We are delighted to congratulate Jérôme on this well-deserved promotion! He truly combines intelligence and dedication with an interest in our clients’ business. His substantial contributions have played a key role in significant successes within Banking & Finance and Corporate/M&A transactions and have made him a vital asset to our team. With Jérôme’s international experience and interdisciplinary thinking we have a brilliant role model for our lawyers”, says Dunja Koch, Partner Banking & Finance and Corporate and M&A.

Expertise:

Jérôme’s practice focuses on transactional and regulatory matters. He regularly advises clients on M&A and financing transactions. He further advises asset managers, collective investment schemes and other financial institutions in relation to their activities in Switzerland, their licensing requirements, as well as the offering of financial instruments and services.
