BakerHostetler adds IP partner in LA

BakerHostetler has added to its privacy and data protection practice with the addition of Alan Friel as a partner its Los Angeles office

Friel joins from Edwards Wildman.

He specialises in media convergence and privacy issues and represents clients in acquisitions, financing, distribution, development, publishing, and financing transactions, especially in cases with complex intellectual property and regulatory concerns.

The appointment follows the recent addition of a five-member group including three IP attorneys to the firm’s Chicago office and BakerHostetler’s merger with national IP firm Woodcock Washburn, which added nearly 70 IP attorneys.
