adidas lawyer moves to private practice
Tim Behean, group IP general counsel at adidas, has joined UK boutique law firm Sipara, which has offices in London and Oxford
At adidas, Behean was responsible for a portfolio of around 11,000 trade marks for brands including adidas, Reebok, Rockport and 5:10. He developed a specialisation in non-traditional marks, notably the adidas three-stripes mark.
He also oversaw an anti-counterfeiting programme which saw some 12 million items seized each year, and commercial matters such as licensing, acquisitions and tax structuring.
Before joining adidas, he qualified with Linklaters and spent 11 years at Slaughter & May.
