Three patent attorneys join Finnegan London

Finnegan Henderson Farabow Garrett & Dunner is stepping up its assault on the UK IP market after hiring three patent attorneys as partners

The recent additions are Philip Cupitt (formerly of RGC Jenkins & Co), Hazel Ford (formerly of JA Kemp) and Daryl Penny (previously at Boult Wade Tennant).

The firm now has five partners in London, 10 months after relocating its Europe office from Brussels.

The new additions span a range of technologies. Cupitt is in the firm’s electrical practice group and has particular experience in patenting software. Ford specialises in biotechnology and has led cases at the EPO opposition divisions and Boards of Appeal more than 20 times. Penny’s expertise lies in the physics, mechanical and electrical fields and he has experience both in EPO oppositions and in supporting national litigation.
