ECIJA appoints sports and entertainment partner

Ricardo Oliveras Salva has joined ECIJA in Barcelona as a partner, specialising in sports and entertainment law

Oliveras Salva spent seven years in the legal department of KPMG Abogados before joining America’s Cup Management as in-house legal counsel. He was subsequently director of the legal and corporate department of the Superleague Formula motorsport series.

More recently he has been a consultant to FIFA on Spain and Portugal’s joint bid to host the World Cup 2018.

ECIJA has a well-established sports and entertainment practice, has advised the World Basketball Championships; and worked on the acquisition of broadcasting rights for the Madrid Open Tennis, Formula 1 and PGA tournament.

It has also worked on football transfers and sponsors including advising Turkish Airlines on the termination of its sponsorship agreement with FC Barcelona and working on the image rights agreement with Lionel Messi.
