Gunther Roland, a Namibian citizen and an attorney in Von Seidels’ patent department, recently qualified as a Namibian attorney. He is on the left of the picture, accompanied by his brother, a Namibian attorney who appeared for him in his admission.

The new office enables the firm to prepare and file ARIPO patent applications directly. Applicants can designate up to 17 countries in an ARIPO patent filing.

The firm filed its first direct ARIPO patent last week.
