Small claims and WIPO meetings: What’s on this week

Managing IP lists the IP-related decisions and meetings taking place this week


Monday October 1

The Patents County Court (PCC) of England and Wales introduces a new small claims track for disputes related to copyright, trade marks and unregistered designs. These can be heard without legal representation and claims will be limited to cost restrictions of £5,000.

A series of week-long meetings begin at WIPO in Geneva: the PCT Committee for Technical Cooperation; the Singapore Treaty on the Law of Trademarks Assembly; the PCT Union - Assembly; the Assemblies of Member States of WIPO; the Lisbon Union - Assembly; the Hague Union - Assembly; the Madrid Union - Assembly; the Berne Union - Executive Committee; the Paris Union - Executive Committee; the WIPO General Assembly; and the WIPO Coordination Committee.
