Discounted disputes for .eu

Fees for filing a dispute over a .eu domain name have been slashed for the second half of this year

The cost of a case with a single panellist and up to five domains comes down from €1300 to €600 while a similar case before three panellists is reduced from €3100 to €2400.

Cases involving more domains are also each reduced by €700.

The .eu dispute service is run by the Czech Arbitration Court (CAC) and .eu registry EURid. In a statement, the organisations said that an external audit had recommended a fee cut.

They said CAC would also enhance the online platform and procedural routines.

Last year, there were just 47 .eu ADR cases and 42 decisions published, 90% of them in favour of the complainant. There have been more than 1,000 proceedings since the launch of .eu in 2005.
