Charles Gielen honored

Professor Charles Gielen of NautaDutilh has been appointed Officer in the Order of Orange-Nassau. He was presented with the honor at a ceremony earlier this month in recognition of his services to intellectual property and other community activities.

Gielen is a long-time participant in INTA. He won the 2006 INTA President’s Award and has served on seven Committees—including the Anti-Counterfeiting & Enforcement Committee and the International Amicus Committee—as well as the Publishing Board, the Brand Names Education Foundation, various presidential task forces, two terms on the Board of Directors, (including the Executive and Nominating Committees) and as a Co-Chair of the 2003 Annual Meeting in Amsterdam, the first INTA Annual Meeting outside of North America. As part of his work on the INTA Amicus Committee, he chaired the Europe Amicus Subcommittee, and was involved in the first amicus briefs that were filed with the European Court of Justice.
