Get ready for IP Week in Singapore

IP Week is taking place September 4-8 in Singapore, where more than 3,000 participants will debate issues surrounding IP in the innovation cycle



This year’s IP Week is taking place between September 4-8 in Singapore, at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre.

The event will include more than 3,000 participants from more than 40 countries, with an interesting and unique range of backgrounds. About 40% of participants will come from business, 35% from government, and 14% from legal.This year's IP Week is taking place between September 4-8 in Singapore, at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre.

Managing IP is a media partner for IP Week. The event bills itself as Asia’s premier innovation conference. Two of the event’s main features are:

-       Global Forum on IP

A two-day multi-disciplinary forum where senior business leaders,  policy makers , heads of IP offices, lawyers and academics will discuss and debate  issues surrounding IP in the innovation cycle. 

-       IP Market Place

Exhibitors, IP experts and participants connect over coffee at the IP Market Place.

IP Week boasts a great array of speakers and topics. The IP Week guest-of-honour is Indranee Rajah, second minister for finance and second minister for education in the Singapore Prime Minister’s Office

The global forum on IP includes sessions on the future of IP organisations, blockchain, the ASEAN market, a judges’ panel, the future of brands in the age of digitalisation, and IP commercialisation.

Among the speakers are such well-known names as USPTO director Andrei Iancu, Intellectual Property Office of Singapore CEO Daren Tang, INTA president-elect David Lossignoi, JPO commission Naoko Munakata, Cravath partner David Kappos, International Valuation Standards Council’s Sir David Tweedie, Google head of copyright Cedric Manara, Senior Copyright Counsel and Head of Copyright Team, Google, Judge James Selna of the Central District of California and Judge Richard Hacon, Presiding Judge of the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court.
