Two of India’s biggest IP firms to merge

India IP firms Singh & Singh and Lall & Sethi will join to create a new entity, Singh & Singh Lall &Sethi

The new firm will be led by Chander M Lall, formerly of Lall & Sethi. Other partners include Bitika Sharma, Sudeep Chatterjee, Tejveer Singh Bhatia, Raghav Malik, Jyotideep Kaur, Tia Malik, Saya Choudhary Kapur and Anju Khanna.

The merger is being touted as a tie-up of two firms with complementary strengths. In the most recent Managing IP rankings, Singh & Singh is listed as a tier 1 firm in patent contentious and trade mark/copyright contentious matters, while Lall & Sethi is ranked in the top tier for copyright and trade mark/copyright contentious matters and tier 2 for trade mark prosecution.

According to Choudhary Kapur, Singh & Singh Lall &Sethi is positioning itself as a “one stop solution for IP and telecom related issues”. She also says that it has plans to eventually become a full service firm.
