The announcement was made at the association’s Annual Meeting in Washington DC. Jorgenson takes the role Todd Dickinson left in July this year.

AIPLA President Wayne Sobon commented: "With her proven legal and leadership skills, deep knowledge of domestic and international IP concerns, extensive experience and understanding of IP organizations and their role in shaping IP policy, and respect in the IP community, Lisa will be invaluable in helping AIPLA's Board of Directors lead our association into its next era. We look forward to working with Lisa to serve our members and deepen AIPLA's impact on the future of IP law."

Jorgenson has held numerous positions as an AIPLA member, including leading committees as well as serving on its board.

She most recently served as the group vice-president of intellectual property and licensing at semiconductor manufacturer STMicroelectronics, based near Dallas, Texas. Before joining ST in 1990, Jorgenson was in private practice focusing on commercial litigation at the Dallas office of Bickel & Brewer.
