Betty Boop infringement claims rejected

A US appeals court has dealt a blow to character merchandising, in a copyright and trade mark dispute over the cartoon character Betty Boop

In an opinion dated February 23, the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit affirmed a summary judgment finding from the Central District of California, dismissing a copyright and trade mark infringement action over unauthorised Betty Boop merchandise.
