WIPO launches Global Design Database

WIPO has unveiled a Global Design Database, which initially includes records of 185,000 records of registered industrial designs

The Database enables users to search designs registered under the Hague System and national registrations in Canada. More national collections will be added soon.

It was released on January 9. On the same day, WIPO said that the weekly-updated Hague Express database has been improved to provide improved, detailed views of registered designs.

WIPO’s Global Brand Database has also been expanded in the past month with the addition of 660,000 records from Indonesia (January 1), 37,000 records from Brunei (December 18) and 900,000 records from Mexico (December 13).
