Canada’s Trademarks Act and Bill C-8 legislation makes progress
In a busy few days for Canadian intellectual property legislation, pre-consultation on amendments to Canada’s Trademark Regulations has begun while the Canadian House of Commons passed the Combating Counterfeit Products Act (Bill C-8)
The Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) opened pre-consultation on amendments to the Trademark Regulations on October 1. The amendments to the Trademarks Act received Royal Assent on June 19 this year.
