Wragge and Lawrence Graham to merge
Law firms Wragge & Co and Lawrence Graham are to merge next year, following a vote by the partners last week
The new firm, Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co, will be formed on May 1 2014 and be one of the largest firms in the UK. It will have 1300 staff, of which 770 are lawyers and 48 are focused on IP.
Gordon Harris of Wragge will be the head of IP.
The firm will have offices in 10 locations, from Birmingham to Dubai, Paris to Guangzhou. According to its website, Lawrence Graham will add six IP lawyers to the firm, who are currently spread across its dispute resolution, projects and private capital teams. In 2012 the partners of Lawrence Graham voted against a £150 million merger with Field Fisher Waterhouse.
The impact of the merger will be largest in the real estate sector and for equity capital markets listings on the London AIM market.
