First hearing at Patents County Court
The first case management conference in London’s Patents County Court under new rules showed how Judge Birss will apply them to minimise costs wherever possible
For a first hearing, it began a little farcically. Anthony Knight, who was defending an action of trade mark and copyright infringement from fashion designer Vivienne Westwood, accused Birss of being biased, rude and arrogant.
