Afnic to launch IDNs in July

French registry Afnic will introduce non-Latin characters in the six ccTLDs that it manages by July 2012, giving existing domain owners exclusive rights to take internationalised domain names (IDNs)
Brands and individuals owning .fr, .yt, .pm, .wf, .tf and .re domains will have from May 3 to July 3 to exclusively register the internationalised versions of their names. The non-Latin characters will include é, and ç, and the German Eszett symbol.
