There are no plans for a .pepsi domain, a spokesman for the soft drinks brand has confirmed to Managing Internet IP.
The company said it will not be pursuing a new generic top-level domain (gTLD) despite Icann's resolution that approved the latest version of the Applicant Guidebook.
Famous brand owners including Google, Microsoft, Nestlé and Toyota declined to comment on their plans for a new gTLD when contacted by Managing Internet IP.
Hitachi and Canon have already confirmed their intention to apply to run gTLDs, while Ikea, Wells Fargo and Morgan Stanley have stated that they will not apply.
