Rozendaal will co-chair the litigation group with Byron Pickard, and Joffre will co-chair the appellate group with Jon Wright.

Joshua Berman has joined White & Case’s global commercial litigation practice as a partner in its New York office. Berman focuses on complex commercial litigation and intellectual property disputes. He was formerly with Troutman Sanders.
George Summerfield has joined K&L Gates as partner from Stadheim & Grear. Summerfield advises on matters before the International Trade Commission, the Patent Trial & Appeal Board, and the European Patent Office.
Lee Sporn has joined Olshan Frome Wolosky as of counsel in its intellectual property law practice, where he will focus on clients in the luxury goods, fashion and retail industries. Sporn was most recently senior vice-president, business affairs, general counsel and corporate secretary at Michael Kors Holdings Limited, where he worked 13 years. Before Michael Kors, Sporn was senior vice-president, general counsel and corporate secretary at Kasper. He also spent more than 11 years at Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation.
Paul Legaard (right) has joined Stradley Ronon as a partner in its Malvern, Pennsylvania office. He was previously a partner at Pepper Hamilton. Legaard has a focus on the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, biotechnology, chemical, biomedical device and scientific instrumentation industries.
Christopher Harnett and Thomas Vitt have joined Jones Day as partners. Harnett joins from Ropes & Gray, and is based in New York. He has appeared in US district courts on behalf of clients in numerous patent infringement and trade secret litigations Vitt joins from Dorsey & Whitney, and is based in Minneapolis. He has acted as lead counsel in a variety of patent, trademark, trade secret, and unfair competition cases in trial and appellate courts.
Ecuadorian IP firm CorralRosales has merged with the intellectual property group of Estudio Jurídico Gallegos, a law firm founded in 1961. The new additions includes partner Francisco Gallegos and associates Cristóbal Montúfar, Miguel Maigualema and Mario Moncayo.
International Trade Commission litigator Daniel Sean Trainor has joined O’Melveny & Myer’s Washington, DC office as a partner. He joins from Kirkland & Ellis.

Marc Kaufman has joined Rimon as a partner in Washington, DC. He was previously partner and co-leader for the FinTech team at Reed Smith. He defended clients against patent assertions in district court and through post-grant administrative proceedings such as inter partes reviews.
Taraneh Maghamé has joined Via Licensing as senior director, wireless programmes and corporate development. Maghamé will lead the expansion of Via’s LTE patent pool in partnership with mobile technology innovators around the world. Before joining Via, she was senior intellectual property licensing, strategy and standards counsel at Apple, where she managed patent licensing with a focus on standard essential patents and standards development related to wireless technologies.
Patent litigators Nicole Jantzi and Paul Schoenhard have joined McDermott Will & Emery as partners in Washington, DC. They join from Ropes & Gray.
Sean Casey (right) has joined Brooks Kushman as shareholder in its Los Angeles office. His IP experience includes the preparation, prosecution, and litigation of technologies that include advanced aerospace technologies, complex computer hardware and software systems and components. Casey was previously an in-house IP counsel for Boeing, where he focused on managing a large patent portfolio.
Patent attorney James Pohl has joined FisherBroyles’s Washington, DC office as a partner in its intellectual property law group. He was previously at Morris & Kamlay, and has a background in electrical engineering and applied physics.
