Analysis: Is the PTAB a troll killer?
The Patent Trial and Appeal Board has provided a useful way for those sued by patent trolls to fight back. It is not just the companies directly affected by litigation that are looking to kill patents, however, says Michael Loney
“Rotatable Technologies is now an ex-patent troll,” declared cloud computing company Rackspace in September. It was celebrating its challenge at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) ending with a patent covering screen rotation technology being declared invalid.
