UKIPO wins in software appeals
The Patents Court in London has dismissed appeals by telecoms service provider AT&T and telecoms innovation company CVON against the refusal of their patents for being computer programs and methods of doing business
In a 17-page judgment handed down on March 3, Justice Lewinson looks at the Symbian decision, which confirmed that software can be patented if it provides a technical contribution to the state of the art.
