Plavix patent upheld by Federal Circuit

The US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit has upheld a US patent for the popular blood clot-inhibitor Plavix in another victory for branded pharmaceutical companies

A three-judge panel last week affirmed the US District Court for the Southern District of New York's June 2007 ruling in favour of Bristol-Myers Squibb and Sanofi Aventis, which held that US patent number 4,847,265 was valid and enforceable....
