MIP International Women's Leadership Forum 2017 - Hong Kong

September 21, Cliftons Hong Kong

Overview

After hugely successful events in New York, Palo Alto and London, Managing Intellectual Property launched its first Women’s Leadership Forum in Hong Kong on September 21, 2017. It focused on regional and global IP developments and provided an opportunity for women in IP to hear the latest thoughts from senior leaders. Subjects included: licensing; increasing anti-counterfeiting technologies; challenges with emerging technologies and advertising in relation to trademarks, among many others.

Managing IP is delighted to have been able to bring this event to Asia as it continues to spread the message of women development in law and IP. The Forum was an excellent networking opportunity for women in-house and IP counsel, as well as private practice advisers. The event also connected successful and high-profile women who shared their career progression and experiences on working in law and the intellectual property space.

You can view the event photos here.

Courts grapple with scope of patent protection

The Supreme Court’s decision in Actavis v Eli Lilly introduced a doctrine of equivalents and arguably also established a doctrine of prosecution history estoppel in the UK.
