Research in Motion has been losing ground for years – but a San Francisco jury’s verdict could help seal its fate in the smartphone race

The case was brought by New Jersey software company Mformation, which alleged that Canadian company RIM was infringing its US patent
number 6970917 for remotely managing wireless devices.
