Prosecutors battle litigators in patent game

Patent prosecutors were pitted against patent litigators in a battle of wits, legal acuity and – since survey respondents determined the winning answer – luck, in a session titled “Patent Wars” at the AIPLA Annual Meeting
Seconds into the game, it was clear who was who: prosecutors assumed their places onstage with their heads down, avoiding eye contact, while the litigators confidently waltzed to their seats.
The teams made jabs at each other. It's the litigator's job to "lead us out of the wilderness the prosecutors have constructed," quipped William Rooklidge of Jones Day. Litigators, claimed prosecutors, routinely take patent specifications...
