How valuable will the Global IP Project be for you?

It seems to have been a very worthwhile exercise: it gathers together information that hasn't been available before to my knowledge. It has created hard data for information that previously would have just been anecdotal, just individuals' experiences of various courts within a firm. In the US that kind of analysis has been around for a while, but nowhere else in the world.

We'll continue to use anecdotal evidence, but we now also have statistics to point to and say, this is what's happening, this is where the trends are going. It will give lawyers an additional tool to decide where to bring a lawsuit, both between jurisdictions and within them.

How important is win rate in your decision to sue in a particular court? It's always a balance, between win rate, time and knowledge of the court. I'd never make...
