Managing IP has become famous (some might say infamous) for our surveys ranking the leading firms, practices and individuals in IP work. This month, we turn our attention to IP offices and ask which are the best and worst places to register a trade mark?

The survey of trade mark users, compiled by lawyers John Olsen and Nicholas Bolter, assesses how 27 of the biggest trade mark registries rate for efficiency, speed, consistency and costs. The results contain some surprises: see if you agree with them from page 28 onwards. We have also put some of the problems raised to the heads of the EU, Indian and US registries, and you can read their responses from page 34.
