“I’m confident” on AV performances deal, says WIPO’s Gurry

WIPO member states taking part in a diplomatic conference on an international treaty for audiovisual performances had agreed the 20 articles that form the core of the deal by Saturday

But negotiations in Beijing were continuing over what statements WIPO member states would agree to make to clarify a number of the articles, as well as wording included in the preamble to the deal itself.

Under the rules of the conference, nothing is agreed until everything is agreed.

The diplomatic conference began in China on Wednesday June 20 with 700 delegates taking part.
