Siemens told UDRP is not for trade mark disputes

Siemens lost a UDRP case this week over the domain name solidedgeuk.com, being told by the panel that it should not bring trade mark cases to the WIPO Center

A Texas-based subsidiary of Siemens brought the case against Solid applications of Oldbury in the UK. Solid had been a reseller of Solid Edge software for Siemens and, previously, for the company that Siemens bought the software from.

A trade mark for Solid Edge was first registered by that developer in 1998,...
