ARI Registry Services has won the contract to provide registry services for three Australian city and regional gTLDs: dot-melbourne, dot-sydney and dot-victoria.

The domains are supported by the Victoria and New South Wales state governments, who opened a request for proposal (RFP) that closed in November.

In the RFP, the governments said all gTLD revenues will be split evenly between the three parties. They also said some second-level domains will be reserved for public bodies and government agencies.

The announcement follows news that ARI has signed at least two dot-brand applicants: StarHub and the Australian Football League. Most registries have not revealed the identities of their gTLD clients.

London & Partners is expected to name its registry provider for dot-london soon.
