Hong Kong tries to stay ahead of the infringers

The Hong Kong agency in charge of combating IP crime is to launch a new Electronic Crime Investigation Centre which it says will close the technological gap between infringers and enforcement officers
Hong Kong Customs is charged with stopping fakes at the border and within the territory, and with dealing with criminal IP infringement on the internet.
Albert Ho, outgoing head of IP Investigation Bureau, told Managing IP that the Centre, which will open later this year, will have 15 staff who will carry out research and development on new forms of technology and train colleagues on how infringers use it to sell counterfeits and facilitate breaches of copyright law.
