Bob Stoll hired by Drinker Biddle

Former USPTO commissioner for patents Robert Stoll has joined Drinker Biddle & Reath’s IP practice in Washington DC.

Stoll retired from the Office at the end of 2011 after 29 years with the Office. Margaret “Peggy” Focarino was named the new commissioner for patents.

Drinker Biddle’s chairman, Alfred Putnam, said Stoll’s experience implementing several provisions of the America Invents Act and his knowledge of patent law “will be invaluable to our clients”.

During his time with the USPTO Stoll also served as dean of training and education, director of the office of enforcement and administrator of the office of legislative and international affairs.
