The man charged with leading a feasibility study into a digital copyright exchange, Richard Hooper, today issued a call for evidence.
Representatives of creative industries have until February 10 to submit comments.
Hooper’s study is in two parts. The first will look at copyright licensing, and issues raised by last year’s Hargreaves Review. The second part will look at potential solutions to the problems, including the establishment of a digital copyright exchange.
Inviting evidence, he asked copyright stakeholders whether they agree that the existing copyright licensing system is not fit for purpose and whether they agree with his definitions. He said he is seeking hard data and evidence.
Hooper’s study is independent of government but is based at the UK IP Office.
