Groupon pays for domain in Australia

It is believed two brothers in Australia have been paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for the groupon.co.au domain.

Gabby and Hezi Leibovich registered the domain and its trade mark before US-based Groupon which offers customers discounted deals at a range of businesses. Groupon has been forced to launch in Australia as Stardeals.

The brothers' daily deal sites, CatchOfTheDay and Scoopon, were recently sold for around $80 million to a consortium led by billionaire James Packer.
