AUSTRALIA: IP firm Griffith Hack is to merge with Perth-based Mallon & Co. The firm was set up in 2005 by name partner Paul Mallon and specialises in IP and technology law. Mallon & Co's four legal specialists will move from the firm's existing building to Griffith Hack's Perth office.

CHINA: US full service law firm Jones Day has hired Michael Vella as a partner in its Shanghai office. Vella joins the firm from Morrison & Foerster, where he was a partner and head of the China litigation practice.

Hong Kong: Two former IP partners from the Hong Kong office of DLA Piper are joining Norton Rose. Gigi Cheah...
